Mission Statement

The Animal Rescue Assistance Team Tennessee’s mission is to facilitate the rescue and adoption of animals from animal control facilities, and to prevent animals from entering animal control facilities in lower Middle Tennessee, and  assist and educate any individual, group or entity who is working on the pet overpopulation issue in Tennessee.

We are a 501(c)3 non profit charitable organization.

Our Goal

The Animal Rescue Assistance Team Tennessee's goal is to assist rescues, individuals, groups, and shelters to humanely reduce the homeless and stray animal population in our area.

Animal Rescue Assistance Team Tennessee will assist any organization or individual the board deems to be actively working on the pet overpopulation issue in the State of Tennessee in the following ways:

• Information about how to work with shelters to pull and rescue animals.
• Information about how to publicize, network, and market shelter and rescue animals.
• Actively network and publicize shelter and rescue animals.
• Sponsor shelter animal pull fees for approved rescues or adopters.
• Assist any organization or individual the board deems to be actively working on the pet overpopulation issue in the State of Tennessee, with improving their facilities and equipment.
• Assist any organization or individual the board deems to be actively working on the pet overpopulation issue in the State of Tennessee, with obtaining their not-for-profit status.
• Sponsor emergency veterinary care.
• Rescued animals transportation and/or costs
• Assist any organization or individual the board deems to be actively working on the pet overpopulation issue in the State of Tennessee, with transportation and/or costs.
• Make funds for neutering or spaying to assist any citizen of the State of Tennessee the board deems in need of assistance.
• Make funds for neutering or spaying to assist any organization or individual the board deems to be actively working on the pet overpopulation issue in the State of Tennessee
• Assist individuals or approved rescues with intercepting animals that are destined for a shelter.
• Pull an animal from a shelter that already has a foster, boarding, or a rescue in place.
• Educate the public about the proper treatment of animals.
• Educate citizens on the importance of community caring for, and the process of how to rehome a stray, instead of bringing it to the shelter.
• Educate the public about the importance of spaying and neutering of companion animals.
• Educate the public about being proactive to prevent animal abuse, including ighting, hoarding, bunching and selling for research.
